Annual Trick-or-Treat fundraiser on track
Never doubt the power of orange. Though their pumpkin hue may not be everyone’s favorite color, the famous little Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF boxes have raked in spare change for good causes for years.
This past season was no different: Weeks before Christmas, Key Club members were more than halfway to their goal of raising US$500,000 to Kick HIV/AIDS Out of Kenya.
That program uses the game of soccer to teach self-esteem, life skills, leadership, and more to the participants and the crowds who come to view the games. The lessons focus on young girls, coaching them to become mentally and physically stronger, which equips them with the fortitude to make healthful decisions, negotiate, handle stress, and resist pressure. |
