Meet Gus and Pat Hawkins

Club: Kiwanis Club of Highland, Indiana

Members since: Pat has been a member since 1991; Gus joined Kiwanis in 1993.

Offices held: Pat has been club president once and lieutenant governor twice. Gus has been club president and lieutenant governor twice. Pat formerly served a three-year term on the Indiana District Foundation Board and currently serves as district governor. Gus is serving a term on the district’s foundation board.

Motivation to support the International Foundation: “We give because we feel that we can make a difference in the world through the iodine deficiency disorders program,” says Gus. “It was a very efficient use of funds. We give to the Children’s Fund because we firmly believe in serving the children of the world, not just those in our own backyard. As Kiwanis International President Steve Siemens would say: We give because we can.”
