Contests galore
K-Kids contest entries for the 2005-06 year are due to district administrators
by April 1.
In addition to speech, essay, scrapbook, and art contests, K-Kids members
may be nominated for the Kiwanis International Foundation Leadership Award.
District recipients of the Leadership Award receive a US$200 savings bond
and a plaque for demonstrating outstanding character and leadership abilities.
The 2005-06 contest themes are:
- 2005-06 Speech: “How does K-Kids help me to become a better person?”
- 2005-06 Essay: “How can K-Kids make a difference in the school and
community?”
- 2005-06 Art: Prepare a drawing that demonstrates K-Kids serving others.
- If a K-Kids club member misses the deadline for this year’s contest,
consider participating in 2006-07, when the themes will be:
- 2006-07 Speech: “What might life be like when I’m an adult because
of what I’ve done in K-Kids?”
- 2006-07 Essay: “What would I want a new person to know about K-Kids?”
- 2006-07 Art: “K-Kids in Action!”
