Enrollment opens for K University

K University currently is enrolling its first class, set for Saturday, May 21, in Columbus, Ohio. The all-day event will be led by International President Case Van Kleef, International President-Elect Steve Siemens, and Executive Director Eddie Sigurdsson.

“K University is a sort of ‘traveling road show,’ teaching, educating, and motivating members wherever it goes,” notes President Case. “This is a new idea, designed to bring Kiwanis education to the organization’s grassroots.”

In addition to the vision of Kiwanis leaders, curriculum covers team-building, motivation, communication, and managing change. Participants will choose workshops according to their interests, and their suggestions and opinions will help shape the program into its final form before its official launch worldwide.

Kiwanis clubs within a three-hour drive of Columbus received information and an invitation to enroll in this pilot program for the Kiwanis education initiative, but all Kiwanians are invited to attend. The session runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Marriott North in Columbus. Registration is $30 and includes lunch, workshop materials, a diploma, and a K University souvenir.

For more information, e-mail Kiwanis International. Participation is limited.
