AGE: 47 (25 in clown years)

FINDING ROSCO: City festivals and fairs, entertaining seniors at birthday parties, and youngsters at library programs.

ROSCO’S SERIOUS SIDE: Behind the buffoonery is Ross’ desire to call attention to serious issues such as literacy, health, and community.

SPOKESMAN: Macomb Literacy Partners with his “Read to Me, Rosco!” program for three years. In that time, the number of young parents seeking reading help has more than doubled.

NEXT FOR ROSCO: Ross hopes to begin researching the links between humor and health and share the lessons he’s learned from 25 years of laughs.

WHEN NOT IN MAKE-UP: President-elect of the Mount Clemens Kiwanis club, president of the Macomb County Historical Society and Crocker House Museum, serves on Macomb YMCA board of directors.
