International Board discussion and action

Here are highlights of discussions and actions from the International Board meeting, April 21-24.

Communications and Conventions

•  Due to financial concerns, decided to move the 2006 International Convention to a new host city, yet to be determined.

•  Agreed to support the 2006 Rose Parade float with US$15,000.

•  Discussed programming ideas to encourage increased International convention attendance.

•  Reviewed an updated model for the Priority One Advisory Council.

Growth and Member Services

•  Amended International Club Procedure to require at least 25 members for clubs to organize in Region 1.

Sponsored Organizations and Programs

•  Created a tiered new-club charter fee structure for Sponsored Programs clubs based on national economies .

Policies, Procedures, and Structures

•  Submitted proposed amendments and resolutions to the 2005 International Convention House of Delegates.

International Relations

•  Discussed revitalization and growth plan strategies for the Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand-South Pacific, Philippines South, Iceland-Faroes, and Andean and Central America districts.

•  Reviewed progress toward full district status of the Poland, Mexico, Ecuador, and Czech Republic and Slovakia districts in formation.

•  Received a presentation about the Kiwanis International Foundation’s endowment-building campaign.
