International Board discussion and action
Here are highlights of discussions and actions from the International
Board meeting, April 21-24.
Communications and Conventions
Due to financial concerns, decided to move the 2006 International
Convention to a new host city, yet to be determined.
Agreed to support the 2006 Rose Parade float with US$15,000.
Discussed programming ideas to encourage increased International
convention attendance.
Reviewed an updated model for the Priority One Advisory
Council.
Growth and Member Services
Amended International Club Procedure to require at least
25 members for clubs to organize in Region 1.
Sponsored Organizations and Programs
Created a tiered new-club charter fee structure for Sponsored
Programs clubs based on national economies .
Policies, Procedures, and Structures
Submitted proposed amendments and resolutions to the 2005
International Convention House of Delegates.
International Relations
Discussed revitalization and growth plan strategies for
the Australia, Japan, Korea, New Zealand-South Pacific, Philippines South,
Iceland-Faroes, and Andean and Central America districts.
Reviewed progress toward full district status of the Poland,
Mexico, Ecuador, and Czech Republic and Slovakia districts in formation.
Received a presentation about the Kiwanis International
Foundation’s endowment-building campaign.
