What’s the connection?

Meet a Priority One Advisory Council member

Julia VinsonThe Young Children: Priority One (YCPO) Advisory Council, a committee of organizations that help Kiwanis in its mission to serve the children of the world, includes the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).

Julia Vinson, a member of the Advisory Council since January 2002, works to find sponsors for CMN and its annual telethon. Through her involvement with children’s hospitals, she understands the issues today’s children confront, and she brings that skill-set to the Advisory Council, which helps Kiwanis develop service programs for the benefit of young children worldwide.

“I bring to the Advisory Council ideas on how to motivate Kiwanis members to give to the cause,” Julia says. “I had the idea, a couple of years ago, to start a banner patch program to give Kiwanians an incentive to raise money for children’s hospitals.”

Julia plans to continue her association with the Kiwanis family for years to come.

“As long as my company partners with Kiwanis,” she says, “I would love to be a part of the Advisory Council.”
