What’s the connection?

The March 2005 issue of KIWANIS Connected sent readers on a wild Internet chase to find the connection between Kiwanis and three celebrities.

Via Google, Yahoo, and AltaVista, KIWANIS Connected readers charged through the World Wide Web on a broadband quest. And this is what they found:

•  Gordon Lightfoot—“Kiwanis Music Festival in 1951 and 1952 were turning points for him as he began his singing career,” reports Penny Worley of the Kiwanis Club of Temple, Texas. Read more about Lightfoot’s Kiwanis connection.

•  Stevie Wonder—“His toy drums he initially learned on were replaced with real ones through the help of a Kiwanis club,” reports Nadine Nickeson of the Kiwanis Club of Safety Harbor, Florida. Read more about Wonder’s Kiwanis connection.
