Keep sponsored youth active
When school’s out for summer, many Circle K clubs become inactive—or cut back on the amount of service provided to communities—because students leave campus for home or jobs.
Kiwanis clubs can help by working with students who do stick around. Here’s what to do:
-
Invite Circle K’ers (and other sponsored youth) to meetings.
-
Ask a Circle K’er to sit on a planning committee in your Kiwanis club.
-
Invite all Circle K’ers, Key Clubbers, Builders, and K-Kids to participate in Kiwanis service projects, fundraisers, and social events.
-
Offer assistance to Circle K’ers and Key Clubbers who wish to attend International conventions. Use the one-third rule: Offer to pay one-third of the cost to send a member to convention (one-third is paid by the student, and the other third is paid by the student’s club.)
