Recognize your distinguished members
If you ask a Kiwanian why he or she joined the organization, more often than not the answer will be, “To help others” or “To make a difference in the community.” You almost never hear Kiwanians say they want to be recognized for what they do; they volunteer their time because it’s what they want to do so.
But sometimes it’s nice to get recognition for a job well done. And that is why the Distinguished Member award exists.
To qualify as a 2006-07 Distinguished Member, a Kiwanian must:
- Recruit at least two new members.
- Participate in two service projects.
- Attend both the midwinter and district convention (or their equivalent).
If you know someone who deserves this recognition, submit a nomination by the October 15, 2007 deadline.
Distinguished members will receive a lapel pin at the 2008 Kiwanis International Convention in Orlando, Florida. |
