Club Gift campaign behind
annual pace
The Annual Club Gift (ACG) campaign, Kiwanis
International Foundation’s (KIF) primary source of income, is a bit behind
its normal pace, according to Gregg Puls, KIF manager of annual giving.
“Last year, the ACG campaign raised US$627,605,”
Puls says. “Our goal for this year is $700,000. As of May 31, we were
approximately 8.65 percent behind. We believe this may be due to clubs
contributing to the Disaster Relief Fund in response to the tsunami that
hit Asia this past December. It also may be clubs are waiting until the
end of the administrative year to make a gift.”
The foundation is working with district chairpersons,
governors, and lieutenant governors to contact clubs and keep the campaign
on track to achieve its goal.
Annual Club Gift donations determine the extent
of KIF support for projects
serving the world’s children, such as a children’s hospital in Oregon,
an orphanage-transition home in Romania, and a literacy project in Utah.
Participating clubs are asked to contribute
at a suggested giving level of $5 per member. To contribute to the ACG,
