Meet Milford and Lenora Hanna

Milford and Lenora HannaCLUB: Kiwanis Club of Lincoln-Northeast, Nebraska

KIF DONORS SINCE: 1993. “Milford was district governor in 1992-93, and at the district banquet, I presented him with a George F. Hixson award,” Lenora says. “That must have been August of 1993. So that would’ve started it off.”

REASON FOR GIVING: “Growing up, neither of us had a whole lot,” Lenora says. “Milford had less than me. He came from a family of 12. We both have done very well, and Kiwanis is a part of our lives. We never thought we’d have given this much, but Milford was the chairman of the Worldwide Service Project (to virtually eliminate iodine deficiency disorders) in the Nebraska-Iowa District, so he thought he’d lead by example. It’s such a worthy cause, and it’s amazing the number of people you can help by donating money. We plan to continue to give. We were charter members of the Heritage Society, so Kiwanis will get more when we’re gone. Hopefully, that’s not too soon though.”
