Circle K’ers and alumni goin’ to Carolina

The calendar countdown is on for Circle K’ers planning to attend the 2005 Circle K International Convention in Greensboro, North Carolina, August 12-16. And the calendar “count-up” is on for Circle K International, because this year marks an important anniversary milestone for the organization: its 50th International Convention.

Under the banner “50 Never Looked So Good,” Circle K’ers, alumni, and guests will partake of the usual good times and great camaraderie, invaluable information, awards, and influential business—and then some.

Throughout the convention, Circle K alumni, for example, can look forward to special activities, including a day trip to the Biltmore Estate and a Greensboro tour. Alumni are encouraged to visit CKI Alumni Web site for more information and to add their names to the growing list of attendees.

The convention also may stage a special lock-lopping ceremony if Circle K lifts its Tomorrow Fund to $160,000. CKI President Troy C. Dibley has vowed to “Shave the Wave”—his hair—if the organization reaches its goal.

Having reached its endowment level, the Tomorrow Fund awards grants to Circle K clubs, enabling them to take on major service projects that normally are beyond their economic means. Those who wish to contribute to Circle K’s Tomorrow Fund by purchasing a specially-minted coin commemorating the 50th anniversary may do so by clicking here.
