Key Club performs summertime miracles
Just because school is out for the summer doesn’t mean Key Clubs are idle. As part of Key Club International’s Major Emphasis Program (MEP), there are four seasonal service partners with which clubs participate. In the summer, it’s the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).
CMN is a nonprofit organization that raises money to benefit hospitalized kids and increases awareness of its member hospitals.
All money raised for CMN directly benefits those hospitals in the form of purchasing specialized equipment, training staff, conducting research, and providing healthcare to families unable to pay.
Though Key Club—and the entire Kiwanis family—can participate in this season of service in many ways, one of the most famous is the annual CMN Celebration broadcast and telethon, which takes place June 2-4.
Clubs also may choose to work with a CMN hospital near them by providing toys to children who are going through treatment, creating or contributing to a library or playroom at a hospital, assisting families and children during long-term care, or providing other needed services. Find a Children’s Miracle Network hospital near you, and learn about the work it is doing in your community. |
