Key Club heads to Boston

Members of Key Club were excited about going to 63rd Annual International Convention well before their host city—Boston, Massachusetts—was touted as the United States’ top Fourth of July destination, but between July 1-5, they will have every opportunity to see why “Bean Town” deserves the honor.

In addition to the city’s famed Fourth celebration, Key Clubbers will experience all they’ve learned to love about the organization, including:

Service: The Service Fair offers members a chance to share with others what their club accomplished during the year. This is also a great opportunity for clubs to gather service and fundraising ideas and tips.

Leadership: The organization will elect leaders for the coming year and amend their bylaws.

Fellowship: Key Clubs exist in 23 nations, many of which will send representatives to Boston; so, the convention offers countless opportunities to meet high school students from other cities, states, provinces, nations, and cultures.

Entertainment: It’s hard to match the enthusiasm of thousands of Key Club members, but two scheduled convention acts are up to the challenge. Harriet Turk, who will address the Opening Session, often is described as “that cheerleader woman,” because she encourages youth and adults to live their lives with energy and enthusiasm. Appearing and the Recognition Session, the Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team entertains crowds with incredible tumbling, high-flying trampoline acts, and twirling jump rope stunts.

Fun: See all the above!
