All this and service too
Cancun! Belize! India! All three are among the world’s most fascinating destinations. Together, Ambassadors for Children and Kiwanis International package trips to these and other amazing locations with plenty of time to enjoy the sights and culture. But there also are opportunities to do what Kiwanis members do best: serve the children of the world.
Consider:
- Kenya, December 26 to January 6: Visit the Cottolengo Children’s Home and the Nyumbani Orphange to deliver much needed school supplies and hygiene kits, implement art and craft activities, and play games with the children. The next day, climb into the highlands of Mount Elgon to Eldoret, an agricultural center where four tribes—Kony, Sapei, Pok, and Bungomek—have been farming the mountain slopes for centuries. And that’s just the start of this mission/safari adventure.
- Jamaica, January 13-20: Enjoy the beautiful sunset from your hotel, nestled in the foliage of Negril’s famous seven-mile beach, with its fine sugar-white sand and warm, pristine Caribbean waters. Then, spend time at the School of Hope in Savannah La Mar. There, you can play and encourage the children, all of whom have disabilities.

- Cancun, Mexico, January 10-14: Liven up your winter by joining Ambassadors for Children in sunny Cancun. Work in schools and orphanages throughout the city and deliver educational supplies, hygiene items, and dental treatment to the children.
- Belize, Ambergris Caye, February 17-24: After a day of snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, beach lounging, and/or nightlife fun, catch a ferry to the quaint island of Caye Caulker to deliver school and dental supplies to a primary school, where you can enjoy recess with the students.
- India, February 25 to March 10: Exotic India awaits your arrival, where you can join 250 students from 33 countries at the 2007 International Yoga Festival. In addition, Ambassadors for Children will volunteer at a local orphanage.
- Guatemala, March 3-10: Explore the fascinating Spanish colonial city of Antigua, before rising the next day for a journey to the province of Esquintla, where you will help teach hygiene and basic health care, upgrade school facilities, and participate in a literacy project.
- El Salvador, March 10-17: Ambassadors for Children believes the best way to explore this small Central American country is through its people, especially the local Kiwanians who established Villa Kiwanis, a community for persons left homeless by the 2001 earthquake.
- Cancun, March 10-17: Explore the wonders of Cancun, Isla Mujeres, or Playa del Carmen while delivering hygiene items and dental treatment to schools and orphanages.
