Values at core of upcoming publications

Three of Builders Club’s core values—leadership, inclusiveness, and caring—will provide the themes for next year’s issues of Builders Bloc, the organization’s official publication. (Builders Club’s fourth core value—character building—was the focus of the 2007 Year-end edition.)

In addition to special sections underscoring the importance of the values in developing leadership skills, the issues will include examples of service projects and other Builders Club activities that demonstrate the values in action.

“The core values are guiding principles that are central to Builders Club,” says Jake Klinger, Builders Club specialist. “These are not values that change from time to time, person to person, or situation to situation. These are qualities that should be stressed among the members of Builders Clubs as a way to foster the development of strong moral character, one of the Objects of Builders Club.”

If your Kiwanis club sponsors a Builders Club that exemplifies the core values through its service projects and fundraisers, you’re encouraged to share its story with Builders Bloc. Be sure to tell why this project or fundraiser was important and how it relates to the core values. And if you have photos, send them along too (great action photos, in tif or jpg format, and at your camera’s highest resolution setting.)

You can send your materials by e-mail or mail them to Builders Bloc Magazine, 3636 Woodview Trace, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
