LSSP puts service before ‘convening’

A Kiwanis-family convention is not only about workshops, meeting new friends, voting on amendments, and electing next year’s leaders. For Circle K’ers, it’s also an occasion to come together—from all around the world—for a week of service.

This year’s Large Scale Service Project takes Circle K’ers to the site of the 2007 International Convention—Portland, Oregon—where they will work with Oregon State Parks.

“The Large Scale Service Project is an opportunity to do what we are most passionate about: serve,” says Amanda J. Badali, Arizona State Circle K’er and chairwoman of the Marketing Subcommittee of LSSP Ad-Hoc. “Service is not always pretty. We’ll be down and dirty as we clear trails, clean parks, build picnic benches, and more! The committee also is excited for great fellowship, including a 70s game show, sock hop, and pool party.”

The LSSP takes place July 30-August 3 in Dabney State Park and Tyron State Creeks Park.
