Czech Republic

Czech Republic KiwaniansIn the Czech Republic, children learn to help children. Through a “Children for Children” project, students deliver gifts to orphaned, disabled, and needy children. The Kiwanis clubs of Luna Louny and Most-Litvinov support the project with funds raised selling gingerbread, candles, and other holiday items at Christmas markets.

Malaysia

Francissa Peter and children sing songs.Francissa Peter (center in dark shirt) is a busy woman. Fran—as she is known—has recorded more than 20 number-one hits on Malaysia’s music charts. She has visited the United States, where she worked with jazz fusion pianist Brian Simpson, gospel singer Michael Winans, and jazz saxophonist Cal Bennett with whom she recorded Liberian Girl for his album Stolen Moments.

Yet, she still has time for Kiwanis, attending the Kiwanis Club of Klang’s “Food for Thought” charity tea and singing four songs, which one newspaper described as a “stunning performance.”
