Support adds up
for You Can Make a Difference campaign
Add Past Kiwanis International Presidents to the growing list of support for the Kiwanis International Foundation's You Can Make a Difference campaign.
The Past Presidents Committee announced its pledge (between US$500,000 and US$1,500,000) during the Kiwanis International Convention in Montréal this past summer.
Previous pledges include Elmer and Bernyce Austermann, who kicked off the campaign by becoming the Foundation’s first $1 million contributors. Past International President Brian Cunat and his wife, Miki, followed suit by pledging to contribute $1.1 million.
“You Can Make a Difference” is a campaign to raise US$37 million by December 31, 2008. From those funds, allocations will be made to support the Kiwanis youth leadership, including Circle K and Key Club International, Builders Club, K-Kids, and Aktion Club. The funds will be used to distribute grants around the world. Contributions will be made to sustain the Worldwide Service Project. Monies also will be given to build new initiatives and infrastructure and $2 million will be used to build the new General Robert G. Morehead International Auditorium and Education Center at the International Office.
