Kids’ Day close at hand

Kiwanis Kids’ Day is an annual observance that began in 1949. The original concept was to bring club and community focus on children and their welfare. While that is now the primary focus of Kiwanis International, the observance remains a nice way to remind children they are important while also informing the community about Kiwanis’ commitment to the children of the world.

Traditionally staged on the fourth Saturday in September, Kids’ Day falls on September 23 this year.

Kiwanis clubs are encouraged to plan a special day for children in their communities, and promote it by issuing a news release prepared just for the occasion.
