- Kiwanis’ 2007-08 International President is an 18-year member and past distinguished president of the Silver Bow, Butte, Montana, Kiwanis club, and past secretary-treasurer of the Kiwanis Club of Tombstone, Virginia City, Montana, which meets on the Internet.
- President Dave served as International Trustee from 2001-03 and was International Vice-President/Treasurer in 2005-06, and President-Elect in 2006-07. He served as governor of the Montana District in 1999, and has earned distinguished honors at every level, from club president to governor.
- In the “outside world,” Dave supervises computer application programmers for NorthWestern Energy and just completed his master’s degree in philanthropy and fundraising from St. Mary’s University in Winona, Minnesota.
- Dave and First Lady Eva have five children and five grandchildren. Eva is a member of the Sunrise Butte Kiwanis club and has a Diamond Level One Hixson.
- In 1999, the Curry’s youngest sons, Chris and Russ, each raised more than $1,000 for Kiwanis’ campaign to rid the world of iodine deficiency disorders and were awarded membership in the George F. Hixson Fellowship.
- President Dave has been serving his community since his 20s (the 1970s), when he was a leader in the Curillo movement and was involved in the Montana Low and Moderate Income Coalition, the Helena Child Advisory Board, and Montana’s Action for People. Since then, he’s been a Boy Scout leader, Little League and basketball coach, and has served in Junior Achievement, the Butte Literacy Board, and the Butte-Silver Bow Planning Board.
- In the summer of 2003, Dave was inducted into the Butte Sports Hall of Fame as a member of the 1972 Central State Champion cross-country team.
