Kiwanis One Day celebrates family service
Service is at the very heart of the Kiwanis family. Whether it’s raking leaves and cleaning up a community park or providing maintenance, gardening, or painting, service is what members love best.
The only thing that makes the experience of hands-on service more gratifying is when it’s done with a spirit of camaraderie by a group of Kiwanis-family members.
Now, imagine the impact of K-Kids, Builders, Key Club, Circle K, and Aktion Club members joining with Kiwanis members all around the world to do just that. With more than 600,000 Kiwanis-family members committing just a few hours each, Kiwanis will be contributing more than 1 million service hours around the world in just one day!
You can stop imagining now: That scenario isn’t fantasy. It will take place on April 7, 2007.
Called Kiwanis One Day: One Way, One Day, One K, it was initiated by Kiwanis International, based on the success of the California-Nevada-Hawaii District’s Total K Day to unite the entire Kiwanis family in service.
Clubs are encouraged to take part in this momentous event by following the step-by-step game plan. The plan includes tips on everything from forming and organizing a committee to selecting and implementing a project. |
